About Us

First Country Bank is a microfinance bank dedicated to promoting the modern heroes of our country — small entrepreneurs, teachers, veterans, and overseas workers.

Former Department of Education Undersecretary Dr. Alejandro Wilfredo Clemente founded the Bank along with a group of retired bank executives in 1999 in order to make a difference in society, by providing financial assistance to borrowers who otherwise would have difficulty being served by bigger banks.

Through the years, First Country Bank has proven that it can take an aggressive stance in the microfinance sector, with its officers bearing in mind that only a microfinance bank truly dedicated to the masses can help improve people’s lives.
